The Ideal Protein weight loss program is a medically developed 4-phase program developed over 20 years ago. Ideal Protein combines a weight loss program with an education that sets dieters up for success once they reach their goal weight. This 4-phase plan helps stabilize the pancreas and blood sugar levels, while burning fat and maintaining muscle.
According to the National Institute of Health, most dieters regain almost all of their lost weight within 5 years after dieting. Without the knowledge of how your body gains weight, why it gains weight, and what foods are likely to increase your risk of weight gain, you will doom yourself to the yo-yo lifestyle of weight gain and dieting. The Ideal Protein Protocol burns fat while supporting muscle, and it teaches dieters how to develop smarter eating habits and lifestyle choices, so they can maintain a stable weight after dieting. The 4-phase program is designed to preserve lean body mass and maintain muscle, which we need to burn calories. We do a weekly BCA reading to measure body fat percentage, lean mass percentage, and hydration level to better coach our dieters and monitor their progress.
Dieters work with a weight loss coach to set realistic and attainable goals and learn how to choose tasty Ideal Protein products for three of four meals each day. Our coaches are trained and certified through Ideal Protein, and they work one-on-one with each dieter every week to help support and provide accountability, as well as education, through each phase.
The Ideal Protein program offers a variety of pre-packaged food to pick from (over 65 choices with more to come soon, including shakes, bars, soups, snacks, chips, and more). Some are grab and go, and others take 5-10 minutes to prepare. Our food contains high quality protein isolates and are low in carbs. The plan includes three of these meals per day. Dinner is your choice of lean protein (beef, chicken, fish, seafood, or wild game0, along with vegetables and lettuce.
On average, women lose 2-3 pounds per week, while men lose an average of 3-4 pounds per week.
Once the desired body fat percentage and/or weight goal is reached, the dieter is moved to phase 2. This phase lasts for two weeks and is used to slowly re-introduce more carbs and calories into the diet.
Healthy fats and carbohydrates are added back into the diet for breakfast each day for the next two weeks, and the dieter is only using one Ideal Protein per day. Focusing on life-style changes, good choices, and planning are key during this period while coaches work with the dieter.
Dieters will use the knowledge they have gained throughout their weight loss journey to continue making good choices and being aware of mindful eating. The dieter has the option, and is encouraged, to continue weekly, then monthly, and then quarterly visits throughout the first 12 months following reaching their goal.
Throughout the first three phases, the dieter is receiving short educational videos from Ideal Protein that give them even more tools for success. Understanding the relationship between insulin and weight gain, as well as the perfect combination of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins in each meal gives the dieters the tools to succeed with keeping the lost weight off for good.
