Jerry Browning has been a physician assistant at Healthcare Express since April 2008.
Jerry started his career earning an associate’s degree in Fire Technology from Texarkana College, followed by an associate’s degree in Emergency Services, and in May 1985, he earned an associate’s degree in Nursing. During this time, Jerry also earned a bachelor of applied arts and sciences degree from Texas A&M University in Texarkana.
In January 2000, Jerry graduated from the Physicians Assistant Program at the University of North Dakota, and in December of 2000, Jerry earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies.
Jerry is a certified physician assistant, has a registered nurse license and is also certified in advanced cardiac life support.
Prior to working for Healthcare Express, Jerry was a physician assistant at Family Practice in Ashdown, Arkansas; a physician assistant at Wadley Hospital Rural Clinic and at Wadley Regional Urgent Care in Texarkana, Texas; a physician assistant at HealthFirst Medical Group in Fort Worth, Texas; and a physician assistant at EmCare Emergency Medicine at Lake Pointe Hospital in Rowlett, Texas.
During his time working at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Jerry held numerous positions including: RN Shift Director, Radiology RN, Intensive Care Unit RN and Charge Nurse.
Jerry also did clerkships for Roy Deskin M.D., Board Certified Pediatrician, at the Southern Clinic in Texarkana, Texas and at the U.S. Army Indigent Clinic in McAllen, Texas.
Jerry has earned numerous honors throughout his career, including being named one of the Outstanding Young Men of America in 1976, Employee of the Month at Wadley Hospital, the Lifesaving Award from the State of Texas, and the Lifesaving Award from the City of Texarkana.
Jerry is a member of the Paramedic Professional Association and the Military Association for Health Professionals.
In his spare time, Jerry enjoys running, hiking, flying and golf.
