Is drug testing accurate?
Yes. Positive samples are tested twice by the laboratory. Before a test is reported as positive, the sample is tested via GCMS.

Can second hand marijuana smoke cause a positive?
No, the cutoff levels have been set to eliminate the possibility of a positive test caused by second hand smoke.

Can I be sued for testing my employees?
Unfortunately, in today's society, you may be sued for almost anything. Having a thorough policy, consistently administering your program, and using a company that specializes in testing will reduce your chances of being liable.

Isn't pre-employment drug testing enough?
No. Many applicants will stop abusing drugs for a while if they know they are going to change jobs or apply for a job. Random testing keeps everyone aware they may be tested any time, thus reducing the potential for your employees to abuse drugs.

Do I need to test for alcohol too?
Alcohol is the most abused drug in America. If alcohol testing is not done, many abusers may switch from illegal drugs to alcohol use.
